Clean Streets Initiative
The Foundation first turned its attention to beautifying the streets of downtown Wellsville. An enthusiastic volunteer crew came together to remove debris, pick up litter, and tidy up the curbs. The success of this early effort has made it a much anticipated annual event.
Check the Events page for news about the next community Street Clean.

Church of the Ascension (circa 1870)
Envisioning a future community and cultural center for the Village, a generous grant provided by the Columbiana County Commissioners is bringing our dream to life!
Together with individual gifts of private donors, much work on the historic church is already complete.
Basic Upgrades such as plumbing and heating - most recently the addition of a bathroom - will give way to use of the venue in many different forms from private to public events.
There are still other needs to be done, and we welcome any contributions to further that effort.

Wellsville Marina REVITALIZATION
Along with many local residents and the Village Council, WCF Board members seek to bring the once vibrant Village Marina back to life.
Through many hours of sweat and hard labor over the past few years, the area has undergone a gigantic clean up.
The vision is a long way off, needing major grant funding to dredge the silt and re-install docks, but it’s already a place of natural beauty, a place groups or individuals can celebrate or simply sit and reflect.
Join us by picking up a shovel to maintain the cleanup, or support the effort by making a contribution to see the marina once again become a popular recreational destination.

"Make it Happen" Committee WORKS!
In 2021, a Youngstown State University Capstone Project identified numerous opportunities for reinvestment and redevelopment in the Village.
Inspired, our mayor convened a special group, *the “Make it Happen” committee*, to turn those ideas into action.
WCF believes this is a perfect opportunity for public-private partnership, with representation on the committee by Board Member David Thompson.
Also on Making it Happen…
An art mural is underway and a Holiday Gingerbread House project to compliment the Nutcracker display downriver in Steubenville.
If you want to be involved creatively, as a volunteer, or to help fund these delightful community projects, please reach out to WCF via email at wellsvillecommunityfoudnation@gmail.com
Each year, we grow a little bit stronger, all thanks to each of you who love Wellsville and its citizens, near and far.

CF Bank Building TRANSFORMED!
Committed to rehabilitating this historic building to best serve the community, the WCF Board actively sought ideas, funding, and tenants to ensure the space would benefit the Village and its people with the greatest impact.
In 2023 these efforts came to fruition!
Under the auspices of East Liverpool City Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, a community care clinic was opened in Wellsville at the former CF Federal Bank building located at 601 Main Street.
As a primary care medical office, the clinic provides the full spectrum of primary care to patients of all ages.
Attention to preventative care to keep patients healthy, as well as diagnosis and treatment of acute illness and chronic disease, the now thriving clinic welcomes both walk-in and same-day appointments and is opened Monday through Friday 8am-4pm.
FOOD PANTRY
We are proud to announce that the basement now houses the First Baptist Church’s long-standing food pantry.
No more waiting in line in the cold! Serving all who suffer from food insecurity.
Help or be helped - WCF, together with Prime Health and Village administration, wants Wellsville to know it is here for everyone who needs a helping hand.

Benches by the River and Field
Come, sit and rest a while!
Located on Riverside Avenue and Hammond Park, memorial benches are enhancing our village!
During 2025, the Wellsville Community Foundation Bench Sponsorship Project afforded individuals the opportunity to purchase a bench, which included a permanent engraved plaque and its dedication as a memorial to a loved one, quote, an advertisement, or simply a name.
All twelve benches were purchased and currently are being secured at designated locations.
